    I dont mind bumping a 4 year old video on a really cool, boutique guitar. Mulecasters really do some weird alchemy to dish out exceptional tone, and thats just clean guitar and amp or just unplugged. They sound nice AF. They also cost three grand + soft tuggy, second hand:) In my opinion, every boutique builder should have a really nice guitar at a thousand bucks to reel in the starving players right at the beginning. Cant knock them for making awesome product, expensive notwithstanding.

    Found a B-Stock for $700, swapped out the pickup with a Seymour Duncan JJN Silencer P90, swapped out the bridge with a Wilkinson all black bridge, and added a TUSQ XL black nut. It plays so well and is one of my favorites. The frets were immaculate which surprised me. I got lucky.

    If, like me, you’ve been searching to hear a Mulecaster played acoustically (not amplified), you have arrived at the the right review. Coming from the acoustic guitar side of things this was important to me. A lot of electric guitar guys don’t pay much attention to this attribute but there is a wealth of tones at the lower volume end of the scale that I find interesting and even though there are some great, portable, battery powered amps these days sometimes you just want to go as bare bones as possible. This a great review and was very helpful to me. I’m probably going to buy one.

    • @BluesWillisMusic
      @BluesWillisMusic 2 місяці тому

      I am glad the video was what you were looking for and you bring up a good point. Many people ignore the acoustic sounds. In general the first time I play an electric guitar in a store, the sales person always comes up to ask me if I want to plug in, and I say no. Let me hear the guitar first. If I like it, then of course I wanna hear it with an amp too. I recommend ordering a mule from Matt rather than buying used.

    I am a sixty seven year old guitar player , and have been playing since I was thirteen . I fell in love with Johnny Winters steel playing when I was about seventeen and could not afford a National Steel so I bought a ton of copy's over the years you know the ones Regals Recording Kings , I even had a Dobro style O .I bought my first National ten years ago and I can testify it is well worth the extra cash .............playability, sound, reliability . Just my humble opinion

      @BluesWillisMusic 2 місяці тому

      I fully agree. National is the gold standard. There are great value cheaper guitars for people who only dabble but if you are serious and play it enough to justify the spending national is a must. Mule is also a goof choice for people who like to stand out a little.

      I sent this one back and bought another one used - which was a mistake because it kinda seems Matt detests people who buy his guitars used and provides no support to them whatsoever :D Anyway I ended up with a punk strat which I like very much and has a way flatter neck/smaller relief.

    I got one of these, after watching your review. I don't mind a rolled fretboard edge, but the noventa's neck feels pretty nice to me. The body is fine too. I wouldn't want it any more rounded. I don't mind the pots, but I know that the wiring ain't great, so I'll probably get CTS pots and an orange drop. Honestly, my biggest problem is with the bridge saddles. They're slanted, so the low string kinda slides back and forth. I need compensated saddles with some kind of groove cut into them. Oh well, this seems like a Tele problem generally.
